In 1996, The GELC got the opportunity to take over the
Hyalite Youth Camp on the banks of the Hyalite
Reservoir, which sits on Forest Service and Gallatin
County land. The camp is rented out to youth groups,
business groups and family reunions. The operations and
repair of the camp are overseen by an elected Board of Directors from the
Gallatin Empire Lions and Lioness Clubs. The camp opens in June and closes
in September.
